WIKING was founded in August 1975 by VTG Vereinigte Tanklager und Transportmittel GmbH in Hamburg, a company of the former Preussag AG and the Norwegian helicopter company, Helikopter Service A.S. in Oslo.
Since 14th August 2017, WIKING has a new sole shareholder with KAAN Air INTERNATIONAL AG, Zurich/Switzerland.
The registered office of WIKING Helikopter Service GmbH is in Wilhelmshaven. The operational main base is right on the North Sea coast, at JadeWeserAIRPORT, a 2nd one in Emden. Since 2018 Wiking has opened another base in Harwich UK. We are able to offer our services to all airports, ports and offshore facilities in this area and along the coast.
Originally founded purely as support for sea pilot transport, WIKING now also flies for international oil and gas companies and supplies the offshore wind industry with personnel and material transport services.
WIKING serves the German Central Command for Maritime Emergencies as an airborne component in rescue operations at sea. We also train the Federal Airborne Rescue Services on the JadeWeserAIRPORT base and, together with the ARGE Küstenschutz coastal protection agency; WIKING provides protection along the German coastline in cases of shipping emergencies.

As Deputy Accountable Manager you should be ready to participate in the further development of our expanding company with focus on operations responsibility, willing to be flexible in execution of defined duties, being member of the leadership team to achieve our common goals without compromising on our high level of safety and quality standards.

Reporting to the Accountable Manager, the Deputy Accountable Manager will be responsible for all of our operational activities and performances, in accordance with regulatory and safety requirements, financial budgets and the company’s procedures.

The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe, reliable, efficient and cost-effective management and growth of the operator. This includes and encompasses oversight of the key dimensions, including Maintenance & Engineering, Safety, Air Operations, and Ground Operations. In this regard, this position is responsible for our operational performance, with a direct and key influence on the financial performance and evolution of the operator.
Minimus Skills and Experience:
  • A business professional with at least ten years of senior management level experience within civil (preferable helicopter) aviation, flight operations, maintenance, safety management or quality management role.
  • Minimum experience: Five years in a senior management role, managing teams and with responsibility for budgets, performance management and operational compliance.
  • Previous experience as a post-holder would be an advantage.
  • Ideally, a deep knowledge and thorough experience in the operational areas, including flight operations, maintenance, quality, safety and operations management.
  • Knowledge of applicable EASA regulations and requirements, relevant to the operations and aircraft maintenance requirements.

About you
